Splatoon 2 Ranked Battle changes are live, now easier to Rank Up

If you’ve been struggling to Rank Up, new Splatoon 2 Ranked Battle changes are now live. It’s now easier than ever to Rank Up to League Battle.

Ranked Battle summary

It’s no secret that Ranked Battle is an absolute battleground for players trying to reach League Battle. Combining newcomers to objective based modes with no means of communication – that’s just plain tough. However, there is light at the end of that tunnel

The Splatoon 2 Ranked Battle changes are based on statistical analysis of data ran by the Developers. As a result, Ranking Up the letter based Rank is significantly easier. With no new patch today, assume it’s an internal change on the Matchmaking Server side.

Ranked Power (a hidden elo ranking) will dictate how and when a Rank Up occurs, with greater effect. In addition to this, if you currently have a high Ranked Power, your next Rank Up should see you skip a grade. Not bad for those of us deep into Ranked Battle already!

[Notice]
Starting tonight from 7PM (as of 1 hour ago), based on Ranked Battle statistics gathered after release, an adjustment has been made to the level of difficulty to Rank Up.
Overall, this should make increasing your Rank easier than ever.
Further, after this update, there will be no change to the ease of matching with players of the same Rank or Ranked Power.

Your Ranked Power (hidden Ranked elo) measured up to this point will carry over.
In the event your Ranked Power is higher in contrast to your Rank, the next time you fill up the Rank Meter, an adjustment will be made based on your Ranked Power – giving you the chance to skip a rank and blast forward.
